World Environment Day 2026 | Webinar: Act Today, Adapt Tomorrow

To mark World Environment Day 2026, Dnet convened staff members and representatives from its partner organizations—PSUS, JKK, NSS, and Prochesta—for a special webinar on climate action and environmental sustainability.

The session featured an inaugural address by Dnet’s Executive Director, Mahmud Hasan, a vibrant cultural presentation by the Monipuri community of Kamalganj through the World Environment Day Global Limbo Dance Challenge of UNEP, a special presentation on the significance of World Environment Day, and reflections on the urgent need for climate resilience and sustainable development.

The webinar also served as a platform for collective commitments toward environmental protection and climate action.

*Dnet* committed to integrating environmental sustainability into its future organizational planning, promoting innovative solutions for environmental protection, expanding digital and paperless approaches, reducing plastic use, adopting eco-friendly materials, and encouraging responsible environmental practices among staff and communities.

*PSUS (Progoti Samaj Unnayan Sangstha)* pledged to continue environmental awareness sessions in community meetings, reduce polythene use, plant at least two trees annually per staff member, and maintain clean surroundings at both office and household levels.

*JKK (Janakalyan Kendra)* committed to empowering marginalized communities, particularly women and youth in and around biodiversity-rich areas, to lead environmental protection and climate justice initiatives, while promoting gender-responsive cleanliness campaigns, sustainable tree care, and community stewardship.

*NSS (Nissho Shohayok Sangstha)* pledged to organize quarterly cleanliness campaigns, promote responsible water use, and incorporate environmental discussions into every organizational meeting.

*Prochesta* committed to reducing single-use plastics in its office operations and encouraging every family to plant at least one medicinal tree and two fruit-bearing trees.

The webinar concluded with a collective pledge from Dnet and its partners to strengthen their commitment to environmental protection, climate adaptation, and community-led action for a more sustainable future.

Dnet organized Online Campaign “Green Together: Voices for Nature” to observe World Environment Day 2026

Green Together: Voices for Nature is a two-day virtual awareness campaign organized in observance of World Environment Day 2026. Running from 04–05 June 2026 through Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media platforms, the campaign aims to amplify community voices, promote environmental stewardship, and encourage collective action for biodiversity conservation and sustainable living.

The campaign will feature day-specific thematic poster publication, alongside a photo campaign involving Dnet and its partner organizations (PSUS, JKK, NSS, and Prochesta) to showcase local environmental initiatives, community engagement, and conservation efforts. A key attraction of the campaign will be participation in the Global Limbo Dance Challenge, where members of the Monipuri community from Kamalganj, Moulvibazar, will contribute a culturally inspired performance to a global movement celebrating environmental awareness through creativity and expression.

In addition, the campaign will encourage online participation in the official World Environment Day celebrations hosted in Baku, Azerbaijan, connecting local communities with the global environmental movement. Through visual content and digital engagement, Green Together: Voices for Nature seeks to inspire individuals and organizations to adopt environmentally responsible practices and contribute to a more sustainable future. The campaign will demonstrate how local actions and community voices can collectively drive meaningful environmental change.

Act Today, Adapt Tomorrow is an upcoming webinar hosted by Dnet on 05 June 2026 at 3:30 PM, marking World Environment Day. The session will bring together staff members from Dnet and its partner organizations—PSUS, JKK, NSS, and Prochesta—to strengthen collective climate action.

The program will begin with a brief introduction, followed by a special video presentation of the Global Limbo Dance Challenge, performed by the Monipuri Ethnic Community from Kamalganj, Moulvibazar. The performance will highlight the urgency of faster climate solutions and reduced emissions through cultural expression.

The webinar will also feature an organizational presentation on the significance of World Environment Day 2026, emphasizing current environmental priorities and global responsibilities. This will be followed by a segment outlining Dnet and its partners’ shared commitments toward climate resilience and sustainability.

The session will conclude with closing remarks by Mahmud Hasan, Executive Director of Dnet, reinforcing the call to act today for a more adaptive and sustainable tomorrow.
