Dnet stands beside flood affected people
August 2014, Floodwaters poured through villages in northern Bangladesh and had left nearly half a million people homeless, washed away roads and damaged crops. The low-lying and densely-populated country had been battered by flash floods for more than a week. Many families in the north of the country were without access to clean water and have lost their crops of rice, the main food staple and sources of income for people in the area. Over 50 villages under Bogra’s Sariakandi and Dhunot Upazilas have been inundated after the Jamuna flood control embankment was breached.
