Position Title: Project Officer

Reports To: Program Manager/Project Manager

 

Location: Based in Dhaka with frequent field visits

Job Type: Full-Time, contractual up to June 2027

 

Job Summary

The Project Officer will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of projects by managing project planning, coordinating and oversight at a national and organizational level, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals. He/she will liaise with field teams, stakeholders, and partners to monitor progress, resolve challenges, and ensure the timely delivery of project outcomes. Reporting, data analysis, and providing insights for decision-making will be key responsibilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Managing project Plan, Coordination & Support

  • Assist in the planning and implementing project activities from initiation to completion.
  • Coordinate day-to-day project activities and ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Visit project implementation area frequently (Outside of Dhaka Division).
  • Maintain project timelines and deadlines and ensure adherence to project milestones.
  • Support project teams by organizing meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting minutes.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Prepare and submit regular project status reports to the Program Manager/Project Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Track project budgets and expenditures and report any discrepancies or issues.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate with internal and external (Govt.) stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Act as a liaison between the project team and other departments or external partners.
  • Facilitate workshops, trainings, meetings, and other events as needed.

Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including reports, budgets, and schedules.
  • Ensure proper archiving and storage of all project-related documents for future reference.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify potential risks to project timelines or deliverables and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Report project issues and risks to the Project Manager and support the resolution process.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Environment, Disaster Management, Development Studies, Social Work, Sociology, or any other relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in program implementation.
  • Experience in climate justice, climate governance, and rights-based gender projects will be given preference.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing project needs and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with risk management processes and techniques is an advantage.

    Job Description: MEAL Specialist

     

    Position Title: MEAL Specialist

     

    Reports To: Program Manager/Project Manager

     

    Location: Based in Dhaka with frequent field visits

    Job Type: Full-Time, contractual up to June 2027

     

     Job Summary:

     

    We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated MEAL Specialist with 3-5 years of professional experience and a Master’s degree in a relevant field. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of publications and a deep understanding of research methodologies. This role involves contributing to the strategic direction of the team and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence.

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    1. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
    • Design and implement robust M&E frameworks, tools, and indicators for projects and programs.
    • Develop data collection methodologies (quantitative and qualitative), validate data collection processes and supervise partners’ data collection processes.
    • Analyze M&E data to assess program performance and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare high-quality M&E reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors.
    • Create a data management framework for collecting partner data and integrating it into the central project database.
    • Manage and maintain the project’s data backup system.

     

    1. Accountability
    • Establish and maintain community feedback and complaints mechanisms.
    • Ensure that beneficiaries and stakeholders have access to timely and relevant information about the project.
    • Ensure that accountability practices are integrated into all stages of the project cycle.

     

    1. Learning and Knowledge Management
    • Promote a learning culture through documentation, reflection sessions, and knowledge sharing.
    • Lead lessons, learned exercises, and evaluations to inform future programming.
    • Ensure that learning is shared across teams and integrated into program design.
    • Maintain project records and draft the donor reports
    • Document field visits, case studies, and lessons learned.

     

    1. Capacity Building
    • Provide training and technical support to program teams on MEAL systems and best practices.
    • Support partners and local staff in understanding and implementing MEAL strategies.
    1. Compliance and Reporting
    • Ensure MEAL systems comply with donor requirements and international standards.
    • Contribute to donor reports, proposals, and log frames as required.

     

     

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Master’s degree in [Development Studies/Economics/Statistics/Sociology/Anthropology/ relevant field]
    • 3-5 years of professional research experience in [specific industry/field].
    • Proven track record of study report/research article
    • Strong knowledge of research methodologies and statistical analysis.
    • Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to lead and manage research projects effectively.
    • Experience with grant writing and securing research funding is a plus.
    • Proficiency in relevant software/tools.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Creative problem-solving abilities.
