About WAFFH

WE ARE FRIENDS FOR HUMAN (WAFFH), a non-governmental organization founded in 1999, is dedicated to the empowerment of the impoverished, particularly women, in Bangladesh's Moulvibazar region. Our vision is for a Bangladesh free of hunger, hardship, illiteracy, and destitution, where everyone can live in peace and justice.

Past and Present Projects

WAFFH has a rich history of empowering communities through a variety of initiatives, notably women's entrepreneurship and adolescent development. WAFFH has always worked to enhance the lives of underprivileged people, with an emphasis on livelihoods, health, and education. Its initiatives, which demonstrate a dedication to sustainable community development, span from encouraging small businesses to advancing science education.

Training For poor Pregnant mother Under GOB. GOVT safety net Program

The Women Affires Department of Govt BD funds the WAFFH, supporting pregnant women in Sreemangal, Rajnagar, and Juri upazilas with nutrition, safe birth, maternal, and child health training.

Relief & Rehabilitation

Since 2019, the Mycorps Malaysia / Spreeha -funded WAFFH has provided aid and rehabilitation to impoverished people in Kulaura Upazilla devastated by flooding, with a focus on resilience and community recovery. 

Improve Cook Stove- (Bondhu chula)

Since October 2016, the Kulaura Upazila "Improve Cook Stove" (Bondhu chula), a project funded by SZ/GIZ, has been implemented by the WAFFH project to lower carbon emissions and enhance health in five unions.

Empowering Adolescent through forming and functioning club

The government's Women Affairs Directorate supported a program 'Empowering Adolescents Through Forming and Functioning Clubs' from 2012 to 2014, focusing on life skills training, library setup, sports, cultural events, and exposure tours in 13 Kulaura Upazilla unions.

NIRAHPAD MA

"NIRAHPAD MA," supported by CARE Bangladesh from 2001-2003, focuses on women's empowerment, public awareness, safe delivery, government service attitudes, and adolescent health and HIV/AIDS awareness.

Post flood rehabilitation

The Post-Flood Rehabilitation Project, sponsored by the NGO Forum (GOB-UNICEF), aimed to address flood-affected people in Rajnagar Upazilla from 2005-2007. It focused on enhancing sanitary facilities, ensuring clean water access, and disinfecting tube wells to prevent waterborne illnesses.
