Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement research strategies aligned with the organization’s goals.
  • Lead the identification and selection of research topics.
  • Secure funding for research projects.
  • Manage research projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Oversee the work of research staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Conduct research activities, such as data collection, analysis, and interpretation (depending on the role).
  • Write research reports, proposals, and articles.
  • Disseminate research findings through presentations, publications, and other means.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest research methodologies and best practices.
  • Manage research budgets and resources effectively.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including funders, collaborators, and policymakers.

 

Educational Requirements

Masters in Economics or relevant subjects from any recognized university with good academic records.

 

Additional Requirements: 

  • At least 4-6 years of experience in research and analysis (Mandatory).
  • At least one journal publication as the first author or co-author/ Thesis (Mandatory).
  • Willingness for extensive field visits.
  • Knowledge of quantitative research methodologies and analysis tools (e.g., SPSS or equivalent).
  • Excellent G Suite skills (including Gmail, Google Forms, Google Scholars, and Google Drive).
  • Intermediate to advanced level slide preparation in presentation programs such as MS PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of MS Word/other word processing software, spreadsheet software (e.g. MS Excel) and digital data collection tool (e.g. ODK).
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills with advanced analysis.
  • Should be efficient in conducting mixed-method research.
  • All our researchers are mandated to publish.

Job Location: Dhaka. Since the position is Dhaka-based, the selected candidate must be prepared to undertake frequent research-related field visits to multiple locations across Bangladesh to collect and record data and/or samples as appropriate to the specific objectives of the study.
