Position Title: Project Officer
Reports To: Program Manager/Project Manager
Location: Based in Dhaka with frequent field visits
Job Type: Full-Time, contractual up to June 2027
Job Summary
The Project Officer will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of projects by managing project planning, coordinating and oversight at a national and organizational level, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals. He/she will liaise with field teams, stakeholders, and partners to monitor progress, resolve challenges, and ensure the timely delivery of project outcomes. Reporting, data analysis, and providing insights for decision-making will be key responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Managing project Plan, Coordination & Support
- Assist in the planning and implementing project activities from initiation to completion.
- Coordinate day-to-day project activities and ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
- Visit project implementation area frequently (Outside of Dhaka Division).
- Maintain project timelines and deadlines and ensure adherence to project milestones.
- Support project teams by organizing meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting minutes.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Prepare and submit regular project status reports to the Program Manager/Project Manager and other stakeholders.
- Track project budgets and expenditures and report any discrepancies or issues.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate with internal and external (Govt.) stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Act as a liaison between the project team and other departments or external partners.
- Facilitate workshops, trainings, meetings, and other events as needed.
Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including reports, budgets, and schedules.
- Ensure proper archiving and storage of all project-related documents for future reference.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify potential risks to project timelines or deliverables and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
- Report project issues and risks to the Project Manager and support the resolution process.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Environment, Disaster Management, Development Studies, Social Work, Sociology, or any other relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in program implementation.
- Experience in climate justice, climate governance, and rights-based gender projects will be given preference.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing project needs and deadlines.
- Familiarity with risk management processes and techniques is an advantage.
