Polly Advancement & Disaster Management Association (PADMA), is a development humanitarian, non-profit, non-government organization (NGO) in the Sunamganj district of Bangladesh. Established in July 1998, PADMA operates with a clear vision: an enlightened humanistic society with sustainable basis for livelihood.
PADMA's numerous projects in the Sunamganj district have long aimed for holistic development. Security of livelihood, education, water sanitation, and computer training were the main focuses of previous programs. As part of its ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life for communities throughout the region, PADMA is now working on projects that promote income-generating endeavors, youth development, vocational training, and sanitation awareness.
PADMA's "IGA Support" effort includes giving sheep in Sunamganj district's Shantiganj Upazila. The Bangladesh NGO Foundation funded the project, which commenced in June 2023 and is expected to be completed by May 2024.
PADMA's "Youth Development '' initiative in Sunamganj's Shantiganj Upazila is centered on awareness activities. It began in May 2023 and will end in April 2024, with funding coming from the Youth Welfare Fund of Youth & Sports.
In Sunamganj's Shantiganj Upazila, PADMA's "Free Latrine Distribution" project entails building hygienic latrines and providing ring and slab tin. It runs from July 2023 to June 2024 with support from the Department of Social Welfare.
Polly Tottah Kendro, a Bangladeshi information service center, aims to address socio-economic difficulties in rural areas through health camps, legal aid, computer training, agricultural information services, and awareness activities, funded by USAID-Dnet from 2008 to 2010.
In Sunamganj's Jagannathpur Upazila, PADMA's "NIRAPAD MA Project" focuses on birth planning sessions and gives traditional birth attendants, local physicians, teachers, and religious leaders training. It was funded by CARE-Bangladesh and took place in January–June 2003.
Across South Sunamganj Upazila, PADMA's "Water Sanitation and IGA" project centered on computer training, awareness campaigns, water sanitation setups, and training in agriculture and IGA. From March 2008 until October 2022, it was funded by the Bangladesh NGO Foundation.
