Dnet & ICT Division MoU to Improve Services for Poor

A MoU has been signed between Dnet and ICT Division, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Government of Bangladesh. The MoU signing ceremony was held at 12:30 PM of 5th January, 2016 in the meeting room of Honorable State Minister of ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak.

The MoU signing has been done as a mutual collaboration for social development to alleviate poverty by spreading ICT to the marginalized communities by opening information centers at a local level, deploying multimedia classrooms, mobile phone based maternal health services with the help of educated rural women.
The present guests were Honorable State Minister of ICT Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Secretary Shyam Sunder Sikder and Additional Secretary Md. Harunur Rashid along with senior officials from Dnet. The MoU was signed by Dr. Ananya Raihan, CEO of Dnet and Additional Secretary Md. Harunur Rashid, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology.
Dnet is a non-profit social enterprise fostering innovations. The main purpose of Dnet is to create opportunities by combining technology and social development models. All innovative efforts of Dnet are conducted to enrich the lives of the marginalized communities especially women and children. Since inception, the organization has been working for social development by combining ICT with Health, Education, Livelihood and Women Empowerment. To establish the aim of Digital Bangladesh in a better way, the implementation and use of ICT in different sectors of the country is inevitable. Driven by this belief, Dnet is developing new and innovative models based on ICT. They want to continue to work and contribute in social development alongside the government.
